Kamakhia Temple

Maa Kamakhya is the renowned Goddess of Desire located in the heart of the Nilachala Hill around 8 km from the Railway Station. Maa Kamakhya Devalaya is considered most sacred and oldest of the 51 Shakti Peethas on earth. Devotees from around the world come here to pay visit and pray for their wishes to be fulfilled. It is the centerpiece of widely practiced, powerful Tantrik Shaktism cult in India. Kamakhya temple has a hemispherical dome on a cruciform base.The temple consists of four chambers: garbhagriha and three mandapas locally called calanta, pancharatna and natamandira aligned from east to west.

Umananda Temple

The name 'Umananda' comes from the two Hindi words, namely 'Uma', which was another name for Lord Shiva’s wife and 'Ananda' which means happiness. It is named after and dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is located on the beautiful Peacock Island. The surroundings of this temple is beautiful beyond words and a heaven for Nature Lovers. It is also an important pilgrimage point in Guwahati that is famous throughout India and the world.
